The Committee recommends that the State party step up its efforts to ensure the prompt adoption of the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights and to see to it that all relevant stakeholders participate in the processes of developing and implementing the Plan. In addition, it encourages the State party to adopt appropriate legislative and administrative measures to ensure that companies operating in the State party exercise due diligence in human rights matters in order to prevent their activities from having a negative impact on the exercise of economic, social and cultural rights. The Committee encourages the State party to consider implementing the recommendations made by the Working Group on the issue of human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises in its report (A/HRC/35/32/Add.2) and refers it to the Committee’s general comment No. 24 (2017) on State obligations under the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in the context of business activities.
